The Proofreading & Editing System (PES) is an editorial support service coordinated by Digital University Foundation to help researchers, authors, publishers, and academic organizations improve the clarity, consistency, presentation, and technical preparation of scholarly manuscripts.
Levels of Editorial Support
- Proofreading — spelling, grammar, punctuation, typographical errors, and consistency
- English-language editing — readability, sentence structure, academic tone, and clarity
- Copyediting — terminology, style, consistency, references, tables, figures, and presentation
- Formatting — preparation according to journal, publisher, or institutional guidelines
- Reference checks — consistency and formatting of citations and reference lists
- Technical presentation checks — scientific terminology, units, abbreviations, equations, tables, and figures
- Pre-submission checks — review of manuscript structure and compliance with the intended journal's requirements
The service is available to both native and non-native English-speaking authors and is not limited to language correction.
Scientific and Editorial Boundaries
PES improves the presentation and editorial quality of a manuscript but does not replace independent scientific peer review. Editors should not fabricate or alter research data, manufacture references, change scientific conclusions without author approval, or certify the validity of experiments or research findings.
Author Responsibility
Authors retain responsibility for the originality, accuracy, research integrity, underlying data, conclusions, authorship, and final approval of their work. Use of PES does not guarantee manuscript acceptance, publication, indexing, or a particular peer-review outcome.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts and associated research materials submitted for editorial assistance are handled as confidential materials and should only be accessible to personnel involved in delivering the requested service.
