Digital University Foundation supports similarity screening as part of responsible manuscript and conference-submission workflows, used to identify textual overlap between submitted material and content available within the databases accessible to the authorized screening service.

Conference Workflow

Where similarity screening forms part of a conference's policy, it may be performed during initial submission screening, before a manuscript is sent for review, following substantial revision, or before final proceedings publication.

Interpretation of Similarity

A similarity percentage is not, by itself, a determination of plagiarism. Legitimate similarity may arise from references, standard methodological language, quotations, or previously described methods. Reports require appropriate human interpretation rather than automatic acceptance or rejection based solely on a numerical score.

Screening Provider

DUF uses appropriately licensed similarity-detection services according to the requirements applicable to the relevant programme. Where a specific commercial provider is used, its identity may be stated for that service or project subject to the applicable licence and branding conditions.

Academic Decision-Making

Similarity screening supports research-integrity assessment but does not replace editorial judgment, peer review, or investigation of suspected misconduct. Final decisions remain with the responsible conference committee, editor, publisher, or institution.
