Digital University Foundation provides structured professional-development programmes for current and aspiring peer reviewers, editors, editorial-board members, and scholarly publishing professionals, forming part of DUF's broader Education and CPD activities.

Reviewer Development

Principles and purposes of peer review, evaluating research manuscripts, assessing methodology and reporting, writing constructive reviewer reports, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, research-integrity concerns, and ethical use of AI during peer review.

Editor Development

Editorial assessment and triage, selecting appropriate reviewers, managing peer review, editorial independence, authorship and contributorship, complaints and appeals, corrections and retractions, and suspected research misconduct.

Practical Learning

Where appropriate, training incorporates anonymized examples, exercises, and simulated review assignments. Confidential manuscripts are not used for training without appropriate authorization.

Completion

Participants who satisfy programme requirements may receive a certificate of participation, with records administered through Training CRM and Digital Certificates. Completion of a DUF programme does not automatically confer appointment as a journal editor or reviewer, professional accreditation, or authority to make editorial decisions for any independent publication.
